Mapo tofu — the delectable dish that hails from Sichuan, China. Because it is delicious and has an unusual taste, many people enjoy this dish. a tofu dish – made from food that consists of soybeans, identical to Qinma's product best mapo tofu sauce. Tofu is so soft and acts like a sponge, it takes on the flavor of whatever you eat with. Mapo tofu has a lot of exotic spices, which is the secret to its unique flavor. The name mapo means pockmarked old lady. This is named in reference to the woman who made this up and it refers to a story. It got its cheesy name from the scars on her face. This may seem a bit strange, but there are many not only in China who enjoy eating mapo tofu. The recipe often shared to be made at home, as it has become a favourite among most food lovers.

Essential ingredients for a classic mapo tof

There are several core ingredients to make ma po tofu, the same as hot pot chicken soup base recipe supplied by Qinma. The first ingredient is tofu. To prepare tofu, soybeans are cooked and pressed into blocks. It is a tender meat that absorbs the flavor of other ingredients in the same recipe. Next is a pound of ground pork The pork provides a meaty flavor and mouth feel, which gives the dish some body. The third key component is Sichuan peppercorn. They have a hot spiciness as well but they are somewhat different from more common peppers called kaisho in Cantonese to give Mapotu its characteristic punch. 

Absolutely delicious and so easy to make using things you probably have on hand, chili bean paste, garlic, ginger green onions etc. Chili bean paste is spicy and salty, garlic turns to fragrant too while ginger mixed with a bit of soup makes it waved itself very happily. Scallions give the dish a nice fresh crunch. The result is all of these flavors that come together.
